Handy Tips

Helping you to save money, be informed and enjoy driving

With our experience in the motor trade we have a lot of tips that can help our customers to save money and better look after their cars. Have a look at our tips and you might be surprised how they help you.

Tyres - Maintain your tyre pressures to their manufacturers recommendations, this can be found on your tyre placard (often seen in drivers door frame, fuel filler lid or check your operators guide). When travelling on a long trip increase by 2-4 psi for better fuel economy.

Paint Protection - Clean off bird droppings and tree sap as quickly as possible to minimise paint damage, long term it will cause stains and devalue your car.

Save Money - Brake ahead of the traffic lights where possible to conserve fuel and minimise the wear on your brake pads.

Long Trip Advice - Before you set off on a trip, it’s a good idea to ensure all your lights work and no outstanding work is yet to be performed like brake, tyres or suspension repairs.

Battery Acid - If you notice white powder acid forming on your battery between services, clean it down by carefully pouring black tea over the area, be sure to dilute it enough to ensure it’s washed away. Be careful not to splash it on your clothes or eyes.

Window Tinting - Keeps your car cool in summer, which means less of a need to use the air conditioning to cool the car down initially. Because its illegal for tinting to be applied to the windscreen, use a reflective shield to prevent excess warmth.
