Saving money at the petrol station is a great way to get more money for the other important things in life. And so often we all notice that before too long where back at the pump filling up again.

Here are some tips to boost your fuel economy.

• Try to fill up on the cheap day for petrol stations, generally a Wednesday.
• Drive smoothly rather than aggressively, this lowers sharp high revs
• Keep tyres pressures at the recommended pressure, a little higher for long trips
• If your vehicle requires high octane fuel, use it as regular unleaded will lower economy and performance
